Summary

The Draft Environmental Impact Statement describes the process undertaken by the USDA Forest Service, to evaluate the issues related to and predicted effects of the submittal by Resolution Copper Mining, LLC of a mining General Plan of Operations, along with a connected, legislatively-mandated land exchange of Federal and private parcels in southeastern Arizona. For a brief introduction to the project, see the Forest Supervisor’s Dear Reader letter. The Executive Summary provides an abridged version of the DEIS for people wanting to quickly become familiar with the project.
