Temperatures in Arizona have risen about 2.5°F since the beginning of the 20th century. Recent upward trends in average temperatures and extreme heat are projected to continue. Under a higher emissions pathway, historically unprecedented increases in annual average temperature are projected during this century.

Following the Resolution Copper Groundwater Modeling Workgroup held on January 16th, SWCA forwarded an email communication detailing the questions from the U.S. EPA on January 25th (email provided in Appendix A). This memo provides responses to EPA’s comments and supporting information.

Some copper deposits can have up to a dozen strategic and critical mineral and materials as co- products, making copper a gateway mineral to these rare elements.

This is the Record of Decision (ROD) for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Tonto National Forest's travel management decision to comply with the 2005 Travel Management Rule, 36 CFR 212 Subpart B, to provide a system of National Forest System roads, trails, and areas on National Forest System Lands that are designated for motor vehicle use.

The purpose of this investigation was to assess the Property and surrounding areas to identify the presence or potential presence of recognized environmental conditions (RECs) potentially resulting in environmental impacts to the Property.

Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for approximately 956 acres referred to as the Appleton Ranch Property. This property is comprised of a set of three private land tracts consisting of eight county assessor parcels within the larger (8,000 acre) Appleton-Whittell Research Ranch.

The purpose of this process memorandum is to describe additional supporting resource information in detail. The Scenic Resources section of Chapter 3 of the EIS includes brief summaries of the information contained in this process memorandum. This process memorandum covers the following topics:

Evaluation of potential 100-year drawdown impacts from groundwater pumping to supply the proposed RC mine.

To assess the cumulative impact associated with use of groundwater for the Resolution Copper Project, modeling of proposed Resolution Desert Wellfield (DWF) pumping in East Salt River Valley (ESRV) was conducted in 2020 in support of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) using what was then ADWR’s current Phoenix AMA groundwater model. Results indicate that without Resolution DWF pumping, but including all other reasonably foreseeable future uses, pumping depths to groundwater beneath the Desert Wellfield at the end of a 100-year predictive period would be approximately 550 feet.

Managing regional aquifer systems within the arid southwestern U.S. basins requires an understanding of the extent to which aquifer recharge and withdrawal impacts the systems, both spatially and temporally.
