Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Non-Federal Parcel, Appleton Ranch, Santa Cruz County, Arizona
WestLand Resources, Inc. (WestLand) was contracted by Resolution Copper Mining, LLC (the “User”) to perform a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for approximately 956 acres referred to as the Appleton Ranch Property (“the Property”). The Property is comprised of a set of three private land tracts consisting of eight county assessor parcels within the larger (8,000 acre) Appleton-Whittell Research Ranch, which is itself a set of properties used in cooperative partnership between the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM), US Forest Service (USFS), The Nature Conservancy, Audubon Society, and Swift Current Land & Cattle, LLC. The Property is presently under non-federal ownership (Swift Current Land & Cattle, LLC), but proposed as part of a land exchange with the USFS under the Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act of 2013.
