On 15 July 1981, a fire burned about 30 ha of Chihua— huan desertscrub community in the Franklin Mountains, El Paso County, Texas. Effects of the fire on shrubs and succulents were investigated by means of transects and study plots in November 1982, 16 months after the fire.

At approximately 12:28 p.m. local time on January 25, 2019, tailings dam B-I at Vale S.A.’s Córrego do Feijão Iron Ore Mine (“Dam I”), located 9 kilometers (km) north-east of Brumadinho, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, suffered a sudden failure, resulting in a catastrophic mudflow that traveled rapidly downstream.

This technical memorandum was prepared in response to Groundwater Work Group Action Item WR-12 “Pull well records and other information for QV and model the impacts” to provide information to address Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) comments about potential impacts to Queen Valley, Arizona water supplies from proposed Resolution Copper mining activities.
