The goal of these guidelines is to maintain the productive capacity of forest soils in Minnesota.

The Criteria are written broadly to recognize the wide variety of historic properties associated with our prehistory and history.

The purpose of this process memorandum is to describe additional supporting resource information in detail. The Geology, Minerals, and Subsidence section of Chapter 3 of the EIS includes brief summaries of the information contained in this process memorandum.

The classification of intermontane-basin landforms presented here was designed to help locate both soil associations and individual soils in a landscape. It is based on morphogenetic affinities of landforms and on their physical scales relative to individual soils.

The Pond and Atlantis climbing areas are on Resolution Copper’s private property. The majority of the Mine area is located on Resolution’s property with Resolution holding mining claims to the remainder of the area. The purpose of this process memorandum is to describe the process by which the proposed project and alternatives were reviewed for consistency with the 1985 forest plan.

Burning-reseeding and burning-reseeding-herbicide treatments near Dewey, Arizona significantly reduced oak chaparral shrub cover for over 7 years and resulted in significantly greater grass production for 5 to 7 years. Grass production was up to 770 lb/acre greater on treated areas than on untreated, depending on the type of treatment, number of years following treatment, and various environmental factors.
