Multiple public comments were received on the DEIS concerning three related topics: the amount of dewatering required to maintain Resolution Copper mine infrastructure, the power requirements for the mine, and the overall water requirements for the mine. In each case, comments purport that the water or power amounts incorporated into the mine design and the DEIS analysis were greatly underestimated.
The purpose of this process memorandum is to explore the factual basis for these comments and determine if they warrant changes to the assumptions used in the DEIS analysis.
