The purpose of this investigation was to assess the Property and surrounding areas to identify the presence or potential presence of recognized environmental conditions (RECs) potentially resulting in environmental impacts to the Property.

The Property is a private in-holding within the Tonto National Forest, located along Cave Creek about 6 miles north of the town of Cave Creek. The nearest large metropolitan community is Phoenix, Arizona, located approximately 25 miles south of the Property.

The Pond and Atlantis climbing areas are on Resolution Copper’s private property. The majority of the Mine area is located on Resolution’s property with Resolution holding mining claims to the remainder of the area. In June 2022, the Forest Service received additional comments from a review of the January 2021 rescinded FEIS conducted by three Bureau of Land Management water specialists. These comments expressed understanding for the approach described above but suggested expanding the analysis to include the total number of wells impacted. The purpose of this process memo is to provide that analysis.

The original process memo served to outline the methods and screening results used for the analysis of cumulative effects within the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) prepared for the Resolution Copper Project by disclosing:Approach for addressing past and present actions in the EIS.

This Biological Assessment (BA) discloses the effects that occurred or may have occurred from suppression related impacts to species and critical habitats listed or proposed for listing under the Endangered Species Act from the Carlota Fire.
