The Research Ranch, near Elgin in Santa Cruz County, Arizona, is administered by the National Audubon Society. It consists of about 8000 acres of federal and private lands that are managed for ecosystem research projects by the National Audubon Society, which has cooperative agreements with the federal land management agencies. This summary of the early history of land settlement of the Research Ranch area and some of the subsequent land transactions is taken primarily from information in the land records of the BLM and ASLD.
Resolution Copper Mining (RCML) is hereby authorized to close the facilities within this permit at the Superior Mine, West Plant Site, located in the Town of Superior, Arizona, over the groundwater of the Phoenix Active Management Area.

Vicky Peacey, representing Resolution Copper, thanked members for coming and participating. It was stated that the group grew out of a suggestion from a town hall meeting earlier in the year. The group is made up of local residents, for the most part, who can help Resolution with project issues, most immediately with the tailings disposal.
These regulations set forth the rules and provisions to minimize adverse environmental impacts on surface resources resulting from locatable mineral activities.
New geologic mapping from the Cedar Mountains - Bloody Basin - Cooks Mesa area in the central Arizona Transition Zone presents an enigmatic geologic relationship that has previously gone unstudied. Here, fault blocks of Early Proterozoic basement overlain by Tertiary sedimentary and tuffaceous-lacustrine deposits and capped by a thick accumulation of basalt flows, dated in the project area between 15.1 and 13.5 Ma, are rotated ~20o west to west-southwest along east-dipping normal faults.
