This report summarizes the meteorological, upper air, nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), ozone (O3), and particulate matter (PM) data collected at the Resolution Copper Project near Superior, Arizona for the third quarter, July 1 – September 30, 2015.

This paper contains ground-motion prediction equations (GMPEs) for average horizontal-component ground motions as a function of earthquake magnitude, distance from source to site, local average shear-wave velocity, and fault type.

One of the fastest growing areas of Arizona is the eastern part of the Phoenix Basin near the communities of Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, and Apache Junction. Much of this development has occurred on the piedmont near the base of the mountains where little of the surficial geology has ever been mapped. Because this area of the Phoenix Basin will continue to grow in the future, there is a need to understand the nature and distribution of surficial deposits.

Recommendations for seismic design ground motions for nuclear facilities require a consistency with both observed strong motion data and with seismological theory on the characteristics of strong shaking. Different recommendations are appropriate for various regions of the US, because both earthquake source characteristics differ and the earth's crustal properties vary with region.

This geologic map was produced to compile and reinterpret published geologic information, and present the result of new geologic mapping in the Ray-Superior area. This data set serves as the basis for ongoing efforts to better understand the geologic history of this area, particularly with respect to the distribution and origin of mineral deposits.

The San Andreas fault zone has been a very significant source of major California earthquakes. From 1812 to 1906 it generated four major earthquakes of M ~7 or larger in two pairs on two major portions of the fault. A pair of major earthquakes occurred on the central to southern region, where the 1857 faulting overlapped the 1812 earthquake faulting. A pair of major earthquakes occurred on the northern region, where the 1906 faulting overlapped the 1838 earthquake faulting.

Increasingly, fault slip rates are being used to constrain earthquake recurrence relationships for site-specific probabilistic seismic hazard (ground motion) assessments. This paper shows the sensitivity of seismic hazard assessments to variations in recurrence models and parameters that incorporate fault slip rates.

This report is an addendum to the Surface Water Baseline Report prepared by M&A (2013) that includes detailed analysis and discussion of surface water monitoring results in the Resolution Project study area; Devils Canyon, Queen Creek, and Mineral Creek.

Public Land Order 1229 of September 27, 1955, which withdrew from all forms of appropriation under the public land laws, including the mining laws, certain national forest lands for campgrounds, picnic grounds, and roadside zones, is hereby modified to the extent necessary to open the following described lands to all forms of appropriation under the public land laws applicable to national forest lands, except under the U.S. mining laws.

This report provides the results of a noise monitoring study conducted by Arcadis at the Resolution Copper Mine (RCM) Lower Smelter Pond near Superior, Arizona. The study gathered data and assessed noise levels from construction activities associated with sludge removal from the pond.
