The purpose of this process memorandum (memo) is to provide a summary of existing, open-pit mines located throughout Arizona that were identified for consideration as a potential alternative location for disposing of tailings from the Resolution Copper Project.

Gila conglomerate has been identified as the primary cover material for the proposed Skunk Camp tailings storage facility (TSF) at the Resolution Copper Project and Land Exchange.

The purpose of this process memorandum is to explore the factual basis for these comments and determine if they warrant changes to the assumptions used in the DEIS analysis.
