A review of the version of the final environmental impact statement (FEIS) published in January 2021 (later rescinded in March 2021) and the Resolution Copper Project geographic information system (GIS) files maintained by SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) identified potential discrepancies in the presentation of acreage throughout the document. These are not necessarily errors, but rather differences in acreage due to different methods of dealing with overlap of facilities, or acreages that had not been consistently updated to reflect project changes. The purpose of this process memorandum is to provide a consistent acreage, broken down by
- project component or facility,
- alternative, and
- ownership (private, state, federal).
In addition, where slight discrepancies are identified with the GIS coverage, a rationale is provided for the acreage to be used consistently in the FEIS.
