Recommendations to the U.S. Geological Survey National Seismic Hazard Mapping Program for the 2014 Update of the National Seismic Hazard Maps

This report presents the results of a reconnaissance analysis of Quaternary faulting in central Arizona, conducted for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The goal of this study has been to thoroughly delineate locations of possible Quaternary faulting in the area surrounding existing and potential dam sites in central Arizona.

Both the point- and finite-source stochastic ground motion models represent recent and promising developments in the quantification of strong ground motions for engineering design.

Despite the recent development of elaborate design procedures and computer-aided design packages, MRMR remains one of the most versatile and practical mine design systems available.

The purpose of this traffic study is to evaluate the current and future transportation system at the proposed Resolution Copper Mine expansion without and with the project. Traffic operations were analyzed at existing, key intersections located near the proposed mining operations and facilities during construction and final operations. Revised April 13, 2017.

This report presents a flood-duration flow frequency analysis for selected durations (1 day, 3 day, 7 day, 15 day, and 30 day) at 173 streamgaging stations throughout Arizona and in western New Mexico.

The proposed Resolution Mine presents a number of socioeconomic issues which required research, analysis and modeling. This report provides greater detail and documentation regarding the socioeconomic effects that will be summarized in the Draft EIS.

This report deals with the potential impacts of noise and vibration on the Apache Leap Special Management Area (SMA) due to the construction and operation of the proposed underground inclined conveyor system for the Resolution Copper facility.

The 2012 Edition is the result of an evolution of design philosophy and will be updated as required to reflect current design issues and approaches.
